Primary RoleKentucky State Police Laboratories provide forensic analysis of evidence for criminal investigations throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. State and local police agencies comprise most of the customer base whose evidence is submitted for analysis. Competent support personnel are an integral position at the laboratories. The Administrative Specialist Senior at the Jefferson Laboratory has the responsibility to create a work environment where chemists, customers, and other personnel can work expertly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will use their skills to ensure the administrative functions supporting the laboratory operations are accomplished daily.
- Enter case file information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for all disciplines at the Jefferson Laboratory.
- Perform receptionist tasks, including but not limited to answering phones and greeting visitors.
- Record subpoenas and discovery motions and provide requested information and case files to analysts for court preparation.
- Maintain laboratory staff court calendar in LIMS.
- Maintain quality assurance of files, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and other administrative documentation as defined by laboratory procedures.
- Keep office supplies and evidence collection kits stocked.
- Maintain, file, and process supply requisitions, vehicle logs, general accounts, and other documentation files associated with the operations at the Jefferson Laboratory.
- Support all personnel within the laboratory by performing general administrative duties.

Education
:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or Skills
:
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

:
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
