The Division of Probation and Parole is hiring for an Administrative Specialist Senior. This position is primarily an administrative position with the division. This position will assist with all duties associated with the accreditation process for the division.
Employees within this position may report to the District Supervisor and, or, Assistant Supervisors.
- Communicates with staff and supervisors to coordinate completion of required work.
- Trained, to assist with providing information to departmental field staff regarding departmental policy changes and maintenance of accreditation and all departmental compliance records.
- Organize the department’s monthly data collection and maintain accuracy of data input within the agencies data management system.
- Coordinates activities related to American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation including but not limited to development and monitoring of operational compliance, review of compliance standards in field offices, coordinates training and development of field staff regarding ACA requirements.
- Maintain safety reports, documentation and workplace safety compliance.
- Compile reports and statistical information into a professional report.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare correspondence and presentation material.
- Ability to compile presentation information into a presentation format and assist with training as required.
- Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties.
- Kentucky Offender Management data base knowledge and process.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments
- Willing to take on additional task as assigned
- Think critically and analyze data
- Familiar with Excel and Outlook
- Positive and helpful attitude to support the district and division as a whole

- Education:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. - Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience. - Substitute Education for
Experience:
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. - Substitute Experience for
Education:
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. - Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.): NONE

Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
