UUS is headquartered in Louisville, KY and has five (soon to be six) satellite warehouses in Virginia, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana (later this year) and is owned by member cooperatives in 20 states. As a full line stocking distributor, UUS supplies a complete line of materials critical to the electric utility industry.

Over the last several years, we have shown continued growth. Our organization specializes in the distribution of Transformers, Conductor, Poleline Hardware, Lighting, Underground Accessories, Grounding Equipment, Guying, Insulators, Protective Equipment, Distribution and Transmission Poles, Utility Tools, and Safety Supplies.

Position Summary

UUS is currently in search of an Inventory Control Coordinator. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting, maintaining item data in VAI and process audits. Researching and resolving inventory discrepancies quickly ensuring the inventory is always accurate. This role would be involved in all tasks associated with inventory control. Working closely with the Inventory Manager and Operations Coordinator not only supporting them but backing them up when needed.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconciles variances.
  • Assist in maintaining VAI data including but not limited to updating item maintenance, new item set up, uploading various data, due dates and other data clean up as needed.
  • Work with manufacturers to coordinate returns and/or repairs.
  • Help to research and resolve inventory discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
  • Escalate inventory challenges in a timely manner.
  • Assist with identifying and/or auditing processes that create inventory issues.
  • Receive in material, along with making any needed pricing adjustments.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure accurate inventory and system data.
  • Act as primary back to Operations coordinator and Inventory Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years' experience in inventory control, including some WMS experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral); strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office and ability to use internet-based business-related computer programs.
  • Walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel when required up to 5-10%.
