OverviewKelley Construction is a multi‑faced commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work in many states across the United States. We offer a wealth of technical expertise in all areas of commercial construction including restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast‑food chains, large design‑build expansions and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum‑related construction to pre‑engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.
Job Duties- Serve as a resource to active project teams to achieve best‑in‑class safety culture.
- Proactively manage travel as needed to fulfill the safety and risk management needs of active projects.
- Communicate daily with site management teams to assess where needs are greatest.
- Recommend actions and techniques to prevent incidents and near misses.
- Monitor progress and effectiveness of corrective safety measures.
- Collect and evaluate safety, loss and accident data, recommend solutions or prevention strategies, and prepare management reports.
- Assist the Corporate Safety Director in the development and implementation of corporate safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and related policies such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Perform/coordinate air quality and noise monitoring.
- Review contractor site safety programs.
- Maintain safety training records.
- Assist site superintendents in administering counseling to employees and subcontractors who are in non‑compliance with safety requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings/job‑site reviews as part of overall project coordination meetings.
- Assist Corporate Safety Director to conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
- Construction safety related experience is a plus.
- General working knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
- Willing and able to travel when necessary.
- Creative thinker “outside the box”.
- Ability to formulate and execute safety procedures, programs, and checklists.
- Ability to facilitate in‑class and on‑site training.
- Present a professional image to Kelley employees, subcontractors, and owners at all times.
- Ability to follow instructions, read and interpret instructions.
- Must be able to travel when necessary.
- Ability to walk, climb, and navigate through various terrains that are present on projects.
