Skillforce has teamed up with an industry leading general contractor to find a Lead Estimator in Louisville, KY. This is a contract to permanent, long-term position.
Location:
Full time in office in Louisville, KY with minimal travel to project sites
We are seeking an experienced Lead
Estimator to join our team in Louisville, KY. This individual will be running the estimating department at a small/medium sized construction company.
Oversee estimating department
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restaurant construction projects
Perform material and quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings
Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to develop comprehensive estimates
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope details
Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and compliance
Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing information
Support preconstruction efforts, bid submissions, and value engineering exercises
Ensure estimates align with project schedules, budgets, and company standards
Qualifications:
5+ years as a lead estimator
10 years of experience in estimating for commercial new construction (restaurants preferred)
Strong proficiency with Computer Ease, Field Ease, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Complete material take offs
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
