About the Role
KERAMIDA is seeking an experienced, field‑based Site Safety Manager for a fixed‑term engagement (anticipated to be approximately 3 months), leading on‑site health and safety management during the construction and equipment installation phase of a new advanced‑manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, OH. As the primary on‑site safety resource, you will establish the site's safety infrastructure from the ground up, oversee a multi‑contractor work environment, and serve as the day‑to‑day point of contact for safety matters with both the client's project team and on‑site contractors.
This is a hands‑on field role for a safety professional who is comfortable mobilizing ahead of construction, building site‑specific programs, and driving OSHA compliance and incident prevention across a fast‑moving installation schedule. The position is full‑time (40 hours per week) and on‑site for the duration of the project, beginning two to three weeks before construction to establish the site's safety infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary on‑site health and safety resource throughout the equipment installation period, working in close coordination with the client's project team and on‑site contractors.
- Mobilize two to three weeks ahead of construction to establish the foundational safety infrastructure before contractor crews arrive on site.
- Develop and implement the site‑specific health and safety program, safety procedures, and work permit process.
- Develop contractor orientation and training materials, and conduct contractor safety orientations.
- Establish and manage the contractor safety management process, providing oversight and coordination for 11+ contractor companies working on‑site simultaneously.
- Manage and oversee day‑to‑day site safety activities across construction and equipment installation work.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits; identify, document, and drive correction of hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Provide OSHA compliance support and guidance (29 CFR 1926 and 1910) and support incident prevention efforts.
- Coordinate with the client's internal project team and EHS staff on relevant safety matters, employing translation tools and techniques as needed to communicate effectively across a multilingual project team.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, environmental science/engineering, or a related field—or equivalent relevant field experience.
- 5+ years of construction or industrial site safety experience, preferably including experience with new‑facility startup or equipment installation projects.
- Professional certification preferred – Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST).
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction; OSHA Confined Space Entry and current First Aid/CPR preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop site‑specific safety programs, procedures, and work permit processes from the ground up.
