Site Manager

I wanted to share more details ahead of the interview for the Site Manager role leading the delivery of automated material handling and sortation system projects. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you'll be responsible for overseeing on‑site installation, pre‑operation, and commissioning activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You'll act as the primary on‑site contact, coordinating teams, managing resources, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving successful project outcomes.

• Lead day‑to‑day site installation activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to keep projects on schedule.
• Manage manpower, resources, and a rolling four‑week look‑ahead plan.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, tools, and site logistics.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs and weekly progress reports.
• Champion health, safety, and quality standards across the project.
• Support testing, commissioning, customer training, and project handover.
• Resolve on‑site issues and upscale technical or commercial matters where required.
• Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and proactive problem‑solving.
• Monitor project progress, identify change orders, and help mitigate project risks.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll submissions for site personnel.
• Take ownership of project delivery while maintaining a flexible, hands‑on approach.
