Project Executive – Power Infrastructure

Location: North-East / Midwest / East Coast opportunities, with occasional travel throughout this wider footprint

Compensation: Up to $200,000 base salary + annual bonus opportunity and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

Position Summary

A leading billion-dollar, employee-owned infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Project Executive – Power & Civil to provide executive-level oversight and leadership across a portfolio of major EPC projects.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity with an established organization delivering some of the region’s most complex power and civil infrastructure initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee large-scale project delivery, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, client satisfaction, and successful execution of complex engineering, procurement, and construction programs.

The Project Executive will serve as a senior leader within the organization, partnering with executive leadership, project teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and deliver exceptional project outcomes across the power and civil sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive oversight and strategic leadership for a portfolio of major EPC power and civil construction projects.
  • Lead project execution strategies from preconstruction through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to client expectations.
  • Oversee Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and project leadership teams across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage overall project financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, cost controls, and risk management.
  • Establish project governance standards, performance expectations, and accountability across project teams.
  • Partner with estimating, engineering, procurement, operations, and field leadership to ensure successful project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility customers, owners, developers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide executive-level communication and reporting regarding project performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts across project delivery processes and operational practices.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while implementing proactive solutions to maintain successful outcomes.
  • Support business development efforts through client relationships, industry presence, and project strategy.
  • Mentor and develop project leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all projects and operations.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive experience managing complex construction projects within the power, utility, heavy civil, or infrastructure industries.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale EPC projects with significant financial responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing multiple projects, project teams, and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of power infrastructure, utility construction, and heavy civil project delivery.
  • Exceptional financial, contractual, and operational management skills.
  • Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of delivering profitable project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic decision‑making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with transmission, substation, renewable energy, or large-scale power infrastructure projects.
  • Background working for a major EPC contractor, utility contractor, or heavy civil organization.
  • Experience managing projects for investor‑owned utilities, government agencies, or large infrastructure owners.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials.
  • Experience leading organizations through periods of significant growth and expansion.
