Black Rock Contracting is seeking a Construction Machine Operator to support onsite construction projects in Louisville, KY.
Position Summary
As a Construction Machine Operator, you will operate heavy construction equipment to assist with site preparation, material movement, and other essential job site tasks. You will work closely with the construction team to maintain safe operations, meet project timelines, and uphold quality standards.
This full-time, onsite role is ideal for an experienced operator who is committed to safety, accuracy, and efficient work in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently to support daily construction activities.
Prepare and maintain job sites by grading, leveling, trenching, and moving materials as directed.
Follow project plans, work orders, and site instructions to ensure accurate installation and site layout.
Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine checks to confirm equipment is functioning properly.
Adhere to all safety procedures, worksite rules, and traffic control practices while coordinating with crew members.
Required Qualifications
Experience operating construction equipment in a job site setting.
Ability to read and follow job instructions, including basic site plans or layouts.
Strong commitment to safety practices and situational awareness on active worksites.
Ability to perform job duties and operate equipment in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Willingness to work full-time onsite in Louisville, KY.
Qualifications
Familiarity with common construction site procedures such as grading and earthmoving.
Experience working with a construction crew and communicating effectively with team members.
Demonstrated ability to operate equipment with precision while minimizing rework.
Previous experience in civil, commercial, or earthworks projects.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $23 - $25
