Gregory Construction is seeking an experienced Project Controls Scheduler to support an active construction project in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing construction project schedules for Gregory Construction's heavy civil and mission critical projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, field leadership, and Project Controls to monitor progress, identify schedule risks, and keep project schedules aligned with actual field execution.
This is an on site position in Louisville. Ideally, this individual will work on site Monday through Friday, although some schedule flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain baseline and updated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Use Critical Path Method scheduling to establish activity sequencing, durations, logic, and project milestones.
- Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field leadership to define work activities, sequencing, and production logic.
- Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule for Gregory Construction's scope of work.
- Track project progress and incorporate field updates into the project schedule.
- Develop Look Ahead Schedules with the project team for upcoming work.
- Monitor schedule performance and identify potential delays, risks, sequencing conflicts, and impacts.
- Prepare schedule reports, progress updates, look ahead schedules, and variance analyses.
- Perform what if and impact analyses to evaluate schedule changes, delays, mitigation strategies, and recovery plans.
- Track and calculate Percent Plan Complete with the Project Field Team and Project Controls Department.
- Support change order evaluations, delay documentation, and schedule related claims analysis as needed.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Equipment, Staffing, and project leadership to align resources with schedule needs.
- Participate in and facilitate scheduling and coordination meetings with project teams.
- Maintain organized schedule files, narratives, updates, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the continued development of company scheduling standards, templates, and procedures.
The position is also responsible for maintaining schedules based on planned and actual project execution and supporting the field team with look ahead scheduling and PPC tracking.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction scheduling or project controls.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze detailed construction schedules.
- Ability to understand field progress and accurately incorporate that information into schedule updates.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and field personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience with heavy civil, site development, infrastructure, or mission critical construction.
- Experience supporting large, fast paced construction projects.
- Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk, or similar construction management platforms.
- Experience with schedule impact analysis, recovery schedules, delay documentation, or change order support.
This position requires working on site at our construction project in Louisville, Kentucky.
Our preference is for this individual to be on site Monday through Friday. Some flexibility may be available depending on the candidate's experience and ability to effectively support the project and field team.
