. We need a leader who knows how grading, mass earthwork, underground utilities, excavation, concrete, structures, and site development come together in the field—and how accurate survey operations keep those projects moving.

The Lead Surveyor will provide technical leadership, establish consistent survey practices, support field teams, and help develop our survey personnel across multiple projects.

Frequent project-to-project travel is required.

What You’ll Do

    .
  • Plan survey workflows, layout sequencing, and field priorities based on project schedules and production needs.
  • Establish standards for survey accuracy, quality control, documentation, and field procedures.
  • Perform and verify complex layout, staking, elevations, control, and as‑built surveys.
  • Provide survey leadership for mass grading, earthwork, wet and dry utilities, excavation, concrete, structures, paving, and site development
    .
  • Establish, maintain, and troubleshoot survey control networks and project benchmarks.
  • Operate and support Trimble S7 Total Stations, TSC7 Controllers, Trimble Access, and Topcon GPS systems
    .
  • Use Trimble Business Center (TBC) to manage and support construction survey data and field operations.
  • Review design plans, alignments, elevations, coordinate systems, and construction data before field execution.
  • Identify discrepancies between design information and field conditions and work with project teams to resolve them.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and field leadership to keep survey activities aligned with construction schedules.
  • Troubleshoot complex survey, equipment, control, and layout issues.
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical support to Party Chiefs, Survey Techs, and other field personnel
    .
  • Help drive consistent survey processes and best practices from project to project.
  • Travel regularly between Gregory Construction jobsites based on project needs.
