Superintendent, Construction

• Provide planning, supervision, and documentation for heavy civil construction, including roads, highways, drainage, utilities, and site development
• Lead safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordination, supervision, and cost control
• Directly supervise and coordinate field Foremen in highway construction
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, sequence, and monitor procurement and construction activities with the Project Manager
• Direct project personnel regarding professional standards, work quality, performance, and accountability
• Review drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals
• Monitor and manage project budgets and authorize expenditures with the Project Manager
• Coordinate with site foremen to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, needs, and deficiencies involving crews and subcontractors
• Ensure coordination of construction activities
• Communicate safety policies and procedures and identify crew safety-training needs
• Assess foremen and employee competency and capability
• Recognize and address issues and problems and provide effective resolutions

• BS or AS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred
• 3 years’ experience as a Superintendent in highway construction
• 7+ years of hands-on highway construction experience
• Knowledge of mass earth movement, large dirt excavations, grading operations, hauling and placement of transported materials, sediment controls, and utility construction preferred
• Knowledge of highway construction project scope and objectives
• Ability to read and understand plans
• Strong knowledge and experience interpreting drawings and project specifications
• Experience scheduling and planning highway construction work
• Previous experience operating excavators, dozers, backhoes, and other construction equipment strongly preferred
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working in a team environment

Proficient in coordinating with project personnel and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project schedules.
