Senior Construction Estimator

Randstad has partnered with a premier, highly respected commercial construction company in Louisville, KY to identify an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for commercial construction projects.

As the Senior Estimator, you will lead preconstruction efforts by developing accurate cost estimates, competitive proposals, value engineering solutions, and detailed risk analyses.

Working closely with project owners, architects, engineers, and internal operations teams, you will oversee complete bid packages and mentor junior estimating staff.

salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

• Estimate Development: Thoroughly review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to construct accurate, comprehensive project estimates across various delivery methods (Lump Sum, Construction Management, Design-Build).
• Quantity Takeoffs & Software Management: Perform digital quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff and compile structured cost estimates in Sage Estimating.
• Subcontractor Procurement & Leveling: Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals via Building Connected to guarantee complete scope coverage and eliminate cost overlaps.
• Conceptual Budgeting & Value Engineering: Formulate early conceptual budgets, perform constructability reviews, and present creative value engineering alternatives to clients and design partners.
• Operations Support & Project Turnover: Partner with Operations to transition winning bids, assist with change order pricing, evaluate contract risk, and support post-bid estimating requirements.
• Data Management & Mentorship: Maintain historical cost databases, refine estimating tools, and mentor junior estimators to promote team growth and continuous process improvement.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Draft professional proposal packages, bid clarifications, and project schedules while maintaining ongoing relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
