• Provide direct and consultative services in assistive technology to students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Assess students' assistive technology needs and recommend appropriate devices and software.
• Teach students to effectively use assistive technology to access the general curriculum, complete assignments, and develop independent learning skills.
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, related service providers, and instructional staff to integrate assistive technology into daily instruction.
• Train teachers, paraprofessionals, and families on the use of accessibility features and specialized devices.
• Participate in IEP meetings, assist in developing goals related to technology use, and document progress.
• Maintain current knowledge of emerging assistive technology for students with visual impairments.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and distribution of technology and materials.
• Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations regarding special educatio Comments KY Teaching Certificate with the Educational Professional Standards Board is required.
