Montessori Torah Academy teachers establish a welcoming classroom where each child feels cared for and respected. The learning environment is student-centered and self-paced, allowing children to explore their own interests while mastering skills and knowledge. Our Montessori program lays the groundwork for academic success by emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, independent focus and working in collaboration with others.

Job Title:

Toddler Lead Teacher Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain a learning environment that is clean, organized, and enticing for young learners.
  • Use behavior management techniques individually tailored to each child and promote classroom normalization. Willingness to train in Collaborative Problem Solving through the school is a must.
  • Carefully observe each child, recording academic progress and offering new challenges.
  • Support each child’s full development socially, mentally, physically and emotionally.
  • Maintain positive relationships and communications with parents and peers.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Love, patience, and respect for children.
  • Montessori Certification (preferred)
  • Prior teaching experience in a Montessori environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Montessori principles and materials.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues/co‑teacher.
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in early education or a related field
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
