Job Description:
The Bellarmine University Physics Program seeks a part‑time lab instructor for PHYS
201 College Physics I for the fall 2026 semester. The course is an algebra‑based introductory physics course that emphasizes basic principles, concepts, and methods of physics. It covers topics in classical mechanics—including vectors, motion in one and two dimensions, Newton’s laws of motion, work, energy, momentum, collisions, rotational motion, and gravitation—as well as heat, thermodynamics, waves, and sound. The program includes three‑hour lectures, two‑hour laboratories, and one‑hour recitations.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of algebra and basic trigonometry. The course is in‑person and approved for General Education.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach both lab sections:
- PHYS
201L College Physics Laboratory – Monday 3:00–5:00 PM;
Tuesday 3:00–5:00 PM
The fall semester extends from 08/20/2025 to 12/02/2025. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
Requirements:Minimum of a master’s degree in physics or a related field with academic training in introductory physics is required. Experience teaching undergraduate physics (or physics laboratory) is preferred.
