About the Role The Education & Outreach Specialist provides training and professional development opportunities for service providers and families through in-person, virtual, webinar or guided support. They serve as a liaison between APH and the states identified in their assigned region and are expected to provide current information about APH products and services and represent APH y also support APH programs developed for eligible students and families.
Reports to the Director of Regional Training and Outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with service providers, Ex-Officio Trustees (EOTs), Online Ordering Assistants (OOAs), personnel preparation programs, and professionals in the field of blindness to provide training opportunities, promote best practices, support quota fund utilization, and expand understanding of APH products and services.
- Serve as the lead for selected APH training opportunities, exhibits, conferences, and professional development events as needed, including presenting sessions at national, regional, state, consumer, and professional gatherings.
- Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, curricula, agendas, and training materials in a variety of formats – including videos, Power Points, blogs, and the APH learning management system – in collaboration with APH staff and project leaders to support internal and external training needs.
- Learn, research, maintain, and disseminate extensive knowledge of APH policies, the Federal Quota system, APH products and services, and models of best practice for the purpose of training customers, consumers, APH staff, and field professionals.
- Collaborate with Project Leaders, Customer Service, EPI, and professionals across the field to support product launches, professional development initiatives, cross-regional knowledge sharing, and the development of outreach and training content.
- Identify, track, and engage professionals in the blindness field to support professional development opportunities and elevate contributors to outreach content development and training initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
