  • Job Title: Library Student Assistant
  • Supervisor: Public Services Librarian
  • Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
  • Pay: $15 per hour
  • Work Schedule: May include evenings (after 5 p.m.) and weekends

Job Purpose

Assist with library circulation, customer service, and basic research support to ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Check out and check in library materials
  • Re-shelve books and maintain shelf order
  • Process new books for circulation
  • Provide basic library research assistance (catalog and database searches)
  • Handle interlibrary loan requests
  • Offer friendly and professional customer service to library users
  • Occasionally assist in supervising interns
Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Friendly and professional customer service skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry books
  • Ability to reach books on low and high shelves
  • Ability to read small print
