Why this role is needed
An additional development resource is required to support the startup of a new boiler system at our Louisville, KY production facility. This role will focus on implementing and integrating PI Tags to support real-time production monitoring and environmental control systems during a critical startup phase.
Responsibilities- Create and configure PI Tags to store sensor data such as temperature, pressure, and flow
- Use PI System Management Tools (SMT) to troubleshoot malfunctioning tags and validate configurations
- Configure exception and compression settings to maintain data accuracy while optimizing database performance
- Integrate PI Tags with Asset Framework (AF) to provide operational context to raw data
- Collaborate with internal production operations and engineering teams to support system startup and monitoring needs
- Implement 718 PI Tags and integrate them with production monitoring and control systems to support a successful boiler system startup
- Successful implementation and integration of all required PI Tags by the project target date
- Development of dashboards and reports that generate alerts, trends, and actionable recommendations as defined by the project

QualificationsMust-have qualifications
- Strong proficiency with PI System Management Tools (SMT), including Point Builder and PI Builder for Excel
- Experience configuring key tag attributes such as Point Source, Data Type (e.g., float
32), Engineering Units, Exception Deviation, and Compression - Ability to follow standardized naming conventions to ensure data consistency and accessibility
- Working knowledge of OPC, Modbus, MQTT, or proprietary interfaces for mapping field data to PI Tags
- Understanding of PI tag-level security, including Point Security and Data Security
- Open to college students or recent graduates with hands-on PI System experience gained through co-ops, internships, or capstone projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Nice-to-have qualifications
- 1–5 years of PI System Management experience in a large industrial manufacturing environment (petrochemical production preferred)
- College degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Data Science
- Initial interview with Account Manager, followed by one or two interviews with hiring managers
