Position Overview:
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8 or more years of experience in consulting engineering. This candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in electrical engineering. This position will work with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy efficient buildings for various clients as well as complex infrastructure projects.

The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc., all for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects. The candidate will work with a team of engineers to design energy-efficient buildings for CMTA clients and will be involved in all project phases.
Experience with project management and business development is preferred.
- Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
- Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
- Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc.
- Interface with owners, clients, architects, and contractors; lead and participate in meetings as needed.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with other engineers and personnel to meet project deadlines.
- Apply engineering principles to design, analyze, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
- Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
- Research and analyze design requirements, manuals, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance needs.
- Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) for conformance with contract documents.
- 8+ years of experience with MEP design
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with internal and external project management
- Experience in MEP design and specifications
- Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
- Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
