Job Summary

The role of Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maximizing system uptime through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of automation and control systems for our fully automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) including AGVs, automated cranes, conveyors, and PLC‑based control architecture.

Responsibilities
  • Automation & Controls Engineering
    • Diagnose and resolve automation faults involving AGVs, cranes, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
    • Perform PLC troubleshooting and minor logic modifications (Allen Bradley / Siemens).
    • Maintain and calibrate sensors, encoders, photo‑eyes, proximity switches, safety devices, and I/O modules.
    • Troubleshoot communication issues across industrial networks such as Ether Net/IP and Profinet.
    • Maintain controls documentation, backups, and firmware/change management.
  • Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
    • Perform electrical troubleshooting up to 480 V, following all safety standards.
    • Execute routine and corrective mechanical maintenance on cranes, lifts, motors, gearboxes, drive systems, and AGVs.
    • Diagnose issues involving bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, chain drives, and AS/RS mechanical mechanisms.
    • Support preventive maintenance planning and documentation through CMMS.
  • System Reliability & Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements that reduce downtime.
    • Participate in root‑cause analysis (RCA) and implement long‑term corrective actions.
    • Partner with automation engineering, operations, and vendors on projects and upgrades.
    • Assist in commissioning of new equipment, automation enhancements, and system expansion.
Work Schedule

Standard schedule:
Monday–Friday day shift. Occasional weekend work for critical issues, system upgrades, and planned improvements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation engineering, or controls support.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, PLC logic flow, sensors, and motion components.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, controls diagrams, mechanical drawings, and ladder logic.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in automated cranes, conveyors, robotics, AGVs, or similar systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 V safely.
  • Ability to work at heights and in elevated crane service areas.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated cranes, bridge/gantry cranes, or AS/RS environments.
  • Hands‑on exposure to Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.
  • Experience in industrial robotics, advanced material handling, or high‑bay storage systems.
  • Familiarity with safety circuits, LOTO, machine guarding, and functional safety.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms for PM and work tracking.
  • Additional certifications in electrical systems, automation, robotics, or controls.
