Responsible for conducting regulatory energy testing on refrigerators, freezer and ice makers. This role works closely with engineering to ensure standards are followed during test setup, execution and reporting. The person should have demonstrated leadership-level expertise in laboratory operations, including governance of test equipment, test software, calibration programs, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable lab performance.

How You'll Create Possibilities- Apply unique technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of appliances, specialized test environment equipment & software, and related industry standards to review test plans to ensure appropriateness, modify test setups as required, and calibrate the test environment.
- Interpret test standards to confirm setup and the appropriate method to use to determine test stability, a valid test, and produce a test summary report.
- Assign Test Request in for AP-5 Thermal lab to the appropriate lab areas and confirm TRs contain the required information for each selected test.
- Perform annual calibration of thermocouple panels and ambient temperature and air flow validation of thermal chambers.
- Move engineering samples between the test area, preparation area, and storage areas.
- Experience with Thermal Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs)
- Thorough understanding of standards (ETP, UL, AHAM, CFR, ANSI.)
- Demonstrated leadership-level expertise in laboratory operations, including governance of test equipment, test software, calibration programs, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable lab performance.
- Ability to independently lead work with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment to set priorities, resolve issues, and drive results aligned with business objectives.
- Proven capability to manage multiple priorities through strong time management, organizational discipline, and attention to detail, ensuring commitments are met in a dynamic, schedule-driven environment.
- Recognized mechanical and technical aptitude to lead and guide effective unit setup using lab testing fixtures, serving as a technical resource for others in the lab.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for unit setup with lab testing fixtures.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory environments with increasing responsibility, including troubleshooting Appliances, test stations, or similar complex equipment.
- 2-year technical degree or military equivalent
- Certified to perform energy testing on appliances per ISO 17025.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment and a lab
- Physically capable of supporting hands‑on lab operations, including the movement and management of large appliances (refrigerators, automatic ice makers, and large Monogram refrigerators), while ensuring safe work practices and mentoring others in proper handling.
- May require occasional weekend work
