Test Engineer II

About the Role

As a Test Engineer II at Sierra Space, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to contribute to the testing and validation of aerospace systems and components. Working under general supervision, you will participate in the planning, execution, and documentation of Verification and Validation (V&V) activities and support system performance and reliability.

• Plan, conduct, and document Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for aerospace systems and components.
• Support requirements management, system design, and systems integration efforts.
• Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and test procedures, applying logical troubleshooting techniques.
• Develop and execute complex test plans, procedures, and reports to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
• Utilize testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to support validation efforts.
• Generate and dispose of product non-conformances in accordance with Product and Quality Assurance principles.
• Prepare technical data, reports, and analyses to support engineering initiatives and project decision‑making.
• Communicate technical concepts and information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to team members and senior engineers.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 2+ years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Working knowledge of Product and Quality Assurance principles and experience with generation and disposition of product non‑conformances.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques.
• Basic experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies.
• Exposure to and execution of complex and professional test plans, procedures, and reports demonstrating compliance with system requirements.

• Proficiency with basic engineering software tools and applications related to testing and validation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new concepts and methodologies in test engineering.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in aerospace engineering.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
• Strong communication skills to clearly and effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Pay Range: $91,158.00 - $ – Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
