Credence has an immediate opening for a Principal‑level Avionics/Aerospace Engineering Support role that will support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center WAM (AFLCMC/WAM) directorate, F‑16 Division at Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The Senior Engineer will be part of the F‑16 “Viper” team, a multi‑role fighter jet providing air‑to‑air, air‑to‑ground, and surveillance capabilities to the U.S. Air Force and coalition partners.
Responsibilities- Assist in supporting, monitoring and assessing prime contractor and major subcontractor systems design, development, integration and verification activities.
- Monitor the F‑16 modernization program, tracking system schedules, performance progress and resolving technical problems.
- Investigate and recommend actions regarding engineering direction, additional development lines and potential requirement compromises.
- Develop avionics technical tasks for inclusion in the program schedule.
- Support the development of system requirements for the program airworthiness certification plan.
- Contribute to the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) and the F‑16 modification programs.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to engineers, lead and chief engineers, project managers and other program team members.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to ensure compatibility of systems, subsystems and equipment.
- Assess technical risks and recommend options for the F‑16 programs.
- Assist in RFP development and evaluation of contractor proposals for production and modification programs.
- Write, assemble and integrate technical requirements of RFPs, including SRDs, SOWs, PWS, SOO, CDRLs, and DD Forms 610.
- Evaluate contractor proposals to ensure compliance with program requirements and participate in source selections, technical evaluations and fact‑finding.
- Interface with all levels of engineering, program management and leadership within the F‑16 Division/Fighters Directorate, AFLCMC directorates, AFRL, DoD and other government and private sector personnel.
- Support standing F‑16 activities such as the Consolidated Board, JMCCT/B, Airworthiness Board, CRTs, System Safety Groups, and other group meetings.
- Support formal and informal program reviews, risk assessments, requirements and design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), PMR, MAT meetings, TIMs and configuration audits.
- For FMS positions, assist in preparing technical requirements in support of LOR, LOA and LOA amendments and resolve technical and schedule issues.
- Active top‑secret clearance.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a related technical field, with at least five (5) years in DoD; OR Bachelor’s degree and at least twelve (12) years of experience, with five (5) years in DoD; OR Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience with required certifications, with eight (8) years in DoD.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of DoD acquisition program office experience.
