Construction Materials Testing Field Technician

Relays information to project manager andor engineer with limited in field decision making

Transports equipment test specimens andor documents to field personnel laboratory clients or other offices and provides physical assistance in equipment set up Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically

Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete

Performs field density testing on soil concrete asphalt and other construction materials

Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary

Follows Atlas safety plans programs policies and procedures

Minimum requirements High school diploma or equivalent Continued education college degree andor degree in technical fields a plus Valid drivers license

Physical strength stamina and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs stoop bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12 hour work day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain

Experience with concrete soils and asphalt testing is preferred

Motivated career oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry

Must be willing to travel within Kentucky and Indiana as required by assignments

Technical requirements Work toward and achieve American Concrete Institute ACI Level 1 certification within six months of employment

Excellent skills in technical writing and verbal communications

Other miscellaneous qualities Ability to travel up to 10 mostly within Kentucky and Southern Indiana Desire to obtain relevant professional registration or certifications if not already obtained
