Job Title and Details
Engineer III, I&C – 6 month contract to hire – Perry, OH
Responsibilities- Plan and execute work requiring independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Develop new approaches to complex problems, receive technical guidance, and obtain supervisory approval for proposed plans.
- Manage assigned projects as a fully competent engineer, ensuring project responsibilities are met and general results are achieved.
- Lead the production of instrumentation engineering/design deliverables, including Instrument Index, control system (DCS and/or PLC) designs, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) data sheets, I/O lists, and Process Control Narratives.
- Apply knowledge of standard I&C engineering concepts, principles, codes, and procedures within the engineering services industry.
- Supervise a small team of engineers or technicians when appropriate and perform studies, specifications, proposal evaluations, and estimate development.
- Maintain current knowledge of innovative control engineering techniques and provide training to personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited engineering discipline.
- Strong background in instrument and control systems.
- 6–10+ years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience.
- Experience with distributed control systems such as ABB, Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, MarkVIe, and GE Micro Net.
- Knowledge of control systems for gas boilers and turbines.
- Demonstrated ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, transparent, teamwork-based culture.
- Proficient with engineering and computer software including MS Office, AutoCAD, 2D & 3D CAD, Blue Beam, Revit, Navis Works, etc.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Communicate in person, by telephone, and via email.
- Use manual dexterity, forearm steadiness, and finger coordination.
- May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely.
- Work in multiple settings including an operating plant, office, warehouse, and construction sites.
- Construction sites may have moderate to high noise levels and involve heavy equipment, materials, and tools.
