Position OverviewThe Electrical Specialist will report directly to the Startup Manager. As a Electrical Specialist, you will promote and provide leadership for Safety, work with the Electrical Lead to coordinate and carry out the daily activities of SU Electrical and construction craft, and assume responsibility of all electrical components and systems integrity for completion of contractual requirements with the highest degree of safety and quality.

Responsibilities- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and site‑specific procedures.
- Execute electrical startup and commissioning activities under the direction of the Electrical Lead.
- Develop and implement procedures specific to electrical startup operations.
- Follow all SU procedures and documentation requirements.
- Review system descriptions and engineering documentation to validate electrical functionality.
- Supervise electrical construction and contractor teams during commissioning.
- Coordinate and validate electrical system checkout and commissioning activities.
- Record and manage initial run data for electrical equipment.
- Provide technical oversight and coordination with Technical Field Advisors.
- Escalate issues promptly to the Electrical Lead and collaborate on resolution plans.
- Develop action plans to address electrical startup challenges and deviations.
- Comply with the Startup Administration Manual and all project documentation standards.
- Participate in project meetings and commissioning reviews as assigned.
- 3-5 years related experience fossil power plant operation/maintenance, and or startup, commissioning protocol.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and effective communication skills.
- Adequate knowledge of OSHA and applicable environmental regulations.
- Adequate knowledge of fossil power plants and major equipment/systems design and operation.
- Adequate knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and operations manuals.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineering/design staff, and vendors.
- Regular, reliable attendance

- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
- May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
