Co-Op Engineer

Job Summary

The Controls Engineer Co‑Op is responsible for assisting in the support of all phases of a controls project, including concept and research, estimating support, component selection, network design, panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming, on‑site installation and debugging, and after‑sales support under an experienced engineer and established guidelines.

• Able to use computer software for design engineering, PLC and HMI programming.
• Capable of basic troubleshooting of a system and communicating status verbally and in writing.
• Assist and support the process for designing and delivering successful controls.
• Support in designing and developing layouts for electrical circuits or systems for power and control distribution.
• Assist in the production of detailed schematics.
• Support the systems checklist for projects during field installation and startup.
• Assist with systems documentation and manual creation.
• Assist in the development of electrical diagrams.
• Be a valuable contributor to project teams.
• Communicate with other team members effectively.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

This position offers a flexible work schedule. General office hours are M‑F, 7 a‑4 p or 8 a‑5 p. Working hours will vary when working at a job site to meet requirements as needed.

• Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering – preferably EE, EET or CECS from an accredited university/college.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance as needed.
