Responsibilities- Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
- Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO
17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations. - Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices.
- Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements.
- Assist in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications.
- Follow guidelines for the bill of materials.
- Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain test‑related documentation in and support administration of the database environment.
- Prepare formal and informal test reports.
- Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs.
- High School Diploma.
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience managing projects or participating in project teams.
- Experience using specialized equipment such as engine dynamo meters.
- Experience welding, shaping sheet metal, milling, or turning (dependent on lab location).
- Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work non‑standard or extended hours when necessary.
- Self‑motivation and ability to complete projects within guidelines.
- Effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clear written and oral communication.
- Aptitude to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of electrical techniques and theories.
- Testing competence as required per ISO
17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations. - Provide personal basic set of tools.
