Engineering Technician II

• Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO
  17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations.
• Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices.
• Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements.
• Assist in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications.
• Follow guidelines for the bill of materials.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain test‑related documentation in and support administration of the database environment.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports.
• Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs.

• High School Diploma.
• At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.

• Experience managing projects or participating in project teams.
• Experience using specialized equipment such as engine dynamo meters.
• Experience welding, shaping sheet metal, milling, or turning (dependent on lab location).

• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work non‑standard or extended hours when necessary.
• Self‑motivation and ability to complete projects within guidelines.
• Effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear written and oral communication.
• Aptitude to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic understanding of electrical techniques and theories.
• Testing competence as required per ISO
  17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations.
• Provide personal basic set of tools.
