Senior Engineer – Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, you will apply your unique skills and insights managing projects in Northeast Ohio, Cleveland office with support from and providing support to project teams that span Ohio and the Midwest Region.
The position includes delivering public sector water and wastewater facilities planning and design projects. In your role you will plan, develop, coordinate, and direct at least one large project and/or several smaller projects simultaneously. You will guide and/or prepare facility assessment and design reports, perform design calculations, perform process and/or hydraulic modeling, select and size equipment, prepare design documents and construction documents, support construction phase services both in office and in the field.
Field work and site visits from planning through construction may require occasional travel. You will support and mentor engineers and will be supported by senior mentors on projects and local and regional office leadership.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Multiple years following PE licensure of documented project management and design experience for water/wastewater facilities projects
- Experience delivering water and/or wastewater facility projects from preliminary design through construction
- Documented experience managing multiple successful project teams delivering high quality projects while meeting schedule and budget goals
- Experience supervising, coordinating, mentoring, and reviewing work by staff
- Experience successfully estimating workload and developing schedules
- Experience communicating and coordinating with clients
- Experience supporting proposal preparation and participating in interviews
- Engagement with professional societies and similar organizations by participating in meetings and conferences
- Proficient in standard software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience managing projects in the northeast Ohio market
- Experience negotiating multiple contracts with clients
- Engagement in professional society leadership roles
- Familiarity with CADD, GIS, Revit, and/or other software
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
- Ohio PE or licensed PE in another state with ability to obtain Ohio PE within 12 months of start date
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Masters degree in Engineering or Construction Management
