Electrical Controls Engineer in Louisville

Rapid Industries is a world leader in conveyor systems since 1967. We design, fabricate, install, and maintain complete material handling systems to fit all applications. We have a large presence in the automotive and appliance industries, specializing in overhead and floor conveyors along with specialty automation equipment.

This position will work within the Engineering department on control systems for our industrial customers. It will closely collaborate with the Vice President, Sr. Electrical Engineer, and Project Managers on specific projects.

Qualified candidates should have strong knowledge of industrial control components. Knowledge of AutoCAD is required; PLC Programming is a plus and will be mentored. The candidate should be willing to grow and learn in a team environment.

• Assist with various tasks that will produce accurate control designs and bill of materials.
• Create purchase requisitions for needed materials.
• Communicate with panel builders or shop personnel on design or build questions.
• Inspect panel builds at the panel fabricator's facility.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD required;
  AutoCAD Electrical experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills verbally and administratively through the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to travel (approximately 10-15%) to customer sites for project kickoff, pre-project design, and assist project engineers with equipment commissioning and troubleshooting if necessary.

• 3‑5 years’ experience in controls automation/PLC programming.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or other related field.
