Plant Supplier Quality Engineer and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Leader
The Plant Supplier Quality Engineer and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Leader has primary oversight of both purchased material quality and plant ESD process control and execution. This position is responsible for driving both short and long-term efforts focused on cost of quality reduction as well as overall plant success in safety, delivery and cost.

How You'll Create Possibilities Drive continuous improvement in quality- Establish and sustain product quality by driving discipline around ESD (Training and Certification, QMS, TPM, Audits, Calibration, Risk Management).
- Owner of all attributes of Manufacturing Control Plans that pertain to plant ESD activities, including training, execution, auditing and improvement.
- Owner for Supplier Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Corrective Action Request (SCAR / CAR) approach to problem solving.
- Drive immediate triage and corrective action for unexpected supplier quality issues that impact product quality or plant safety, delivery or cost.
- Lead and support 1x1 problem solving for assigned areas, primarily ESD and Supplier Quality. Collaborate with factory teams, and Central Supplier Quality Engineering to improve product quality through the identification and elimination of both long and short term ESD and supplier driven quality issues.
- Respond to abnormalities in product and component testing and performance results. Coordinate component audits, sorts or holds where appropriate. (Lab testing).
- Provide guidance to the New Product Introduction (NPI) team regarding manufacturing process capabilities for application to new designs, processes or geometries. Evaluate and implement new testing technologies to support new product innovations, while improving outgoing quality.
- Collect and analyze data as part of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and implement escalation plans as required by MCI/MCP. Monitor and respond to data trends. Identify root cause if out of control, and lead corrective actions.
- Identify and execute projects to reduce Cost of Quality (COQ) in assigned areas, primarily where purchased parts are driving manufacturing waste and poor Cost of Quality (COQ).
- Work with Plant Quality and Operations to optimize purchased part quality and characteristics to reduce manufacturing defects, non-value-added labor, EHS concerns and production bottlenecks.
- Work with Business and Manufacturing Engineering Leaders to prioritize funding/resources to meet targets, support Continuous Improvement, including when purchased parts meet specifications but are still driving waste and poor quality within the facility.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent, technical experience.
- 5+ years’ experience with manufacturing quality/quality improvement projects and/or process improvement in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment or equivalent military experience.
- Prior experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) application or theory development strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical, cross‑functional program deliverables and ability to drive decisions based on the overall benefit to the company.
- Good organizational, project management and presentation skills to interact with all levels within the organization and with suppliers and vendors.
- Possess strong communication skills – will be expected to provide program report outs to cross‑functional team.
- Related experience in multi‑stage material processing.
- Experience interpreting data to solve problems associated with high volume, short cycle manufacturing of consumer products.
- Experience in development or sustainment of data collection and measurement systems.
- Ability to work within large cross‑functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members).
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
