Job Duties- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are aligned with business goals and the company’s mission.
- Lead efforts to continually improve safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, profitability, and team member development within the division.
- Operate computer‑assisted engineering or design software/equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Meet with internal clients to achieve project goals, clarify specific requirements, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Research, design, develop, or test automation, intelligent systems, smart devices, or industrial systems control.
- Design advanced precision equipment for accurate or controlled applications and engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks.
- Monitor or calibrate automated systems, industrial control systems, or system components to maximize production efficiency.
- Communicate project tasks, scopes, durations, and progress clearly to teammates and managers.
- Track project performance for successful completion of short‑ and long‑term goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives.
- Program, install, and provide technical support for PLC‑based hardware and software.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and share them with team members and managers.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
- Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10%).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Requirements- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering and at least three (3) years of experience in controls and automation engineering and maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Experience in process control, automation, and electrical engineering maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Designing, coding, and troubleshooting plant automation and electrical control systems.
- Programming, installation, and technical support utilizing PLC automation hardware and software tools, including Rockwell, Siemens, and Emerson Delta
V. - Design and drafting experience with AutoCAD for reviewing and drafting electrical schematics and panel drawings.
- Human‑machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) programming for data visualization from PLCs and sensors.
- Travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10%).
