CFW Associated Engineers, Inc., is an employee-owned consulting firm of civil, chemical, electrical, mechanical, process, and structural engineers. Staffed with experienced engineers, designers, and drafters, CFW specializes in the design and construction of new industrial processes and redesigns/modifications to existing processes. CFW’s clients include owners, contractors, and fabricators.

About the Role

CFW is expanding our engineering team and seeks candidates for a mid- to senior-level Chemical Process Engineer position.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a multidiscipline team of engineers and designers, serving as project chemical engineer or lead chemical engineer for assigned projects
  • Work primarily in an office setting, with periodic visits to project sites (up to 15% of time)
  • Prepare and modify process flow diagrams (CAD Format)
  • Prepare and modify piping and instrumentation drawings (CAD Format)
  • Prepare material and energy balance calculations
  • Develop technical specifications for process equipment
  • Develop instrument and equipment datasheets
  • Develop project schedules in MSProject
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Engineering program, with Chemical Engineering major preferred
  • 10+ years of working experience required (15+ preferred)
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD and Navisworks
  • PE license or ability to obtain license in state of practice
  • Experience in chemical plants or other industrial settings (preferred)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
Chemical Engineering Project Topics
  • Material handling systems design (e.g., liquids pumping, pneumatic conveying, mechanical conveying)
  • Line sizing and piping systems design
  • Liquid and dry materials storage design
  • Heat transfer calculations
  • Codes and standards interpretation and application (e.g., API 520, API 521, API 2000, ASME Sect VIII, ASME Sect I)
