Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our expanding manufacturing team in Louisville, KY. The role involves supporting quality initiatives through process analysis, problem-solving, data collection, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and a drive to enhance manufacturing processes through quality improvements and risk reduction. This is an exciting opportunity for an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering professional seeking career development in a secure and developing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Quality Engineering tasks focused on process enhancement, cost reduction, and workflow simplification.
  • Perform Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) studies to pinpoint and mitigate potential process risks.
  • Conduct Process Capability Studies to assess process performance and ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Carry out Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and corrective action implementation.
  • Analyze quality issues and collaborate with engineering, technical, and production teams to identify root causes and apply corrective measures.
  • Utilize root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods to address manufacturing and quality concerns.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional team meetings.
  • Assist the Quality/Configuration Engineer and other quality leadership team members in quality system activities.
  • Support company objectives by participating in special projects and additional assignments as required.
  • Promote and uphold the organization’s quality policies, goals, and mission.
Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field (or currently pursuing one).
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality tools like PFMEA, Process Capability Studies, GR&R, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and quality improvement techniques.
  • ASQ Certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and engineering software.
