Mechanical Designer
Job Description
The Mechanical Designer works closely with the project engineering team to design and develop custom mechanical solutions for customers. This role focuses on creating detailed customer approval drawings and subsequent fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor in a manufacturing environment. The Mechanical Designer designs components and assemblies from scratch, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and alignment with customer requirements while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate closely with the project engineering team to understand project requirements and design objectives.
+ Create detailed custom customer drawings using Autodesk Inventor for review and approval.
+ Design mechanical components and assemblies from scratch in a manufacturing environment.
+ Prepare accurate fabrication drawings once customer approval is obtained.
+ Ensure that all drawings and models meet engineering standards, manufacturing capabilities, and customer specifications.
+ Use spreadsheet programs to support design work, documentation, and data management.
+ Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams to clarify requirements, resolve design issues, and support project timelines.
+ Revise and update drawings and documentation as needed based on feedback from engineering, manufacturing, and customers.
+ Maintain organized design files and documentation for future reference and reuse.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor in a manufacturing or similar environment.
+ Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies from scratch.
+ Ability to create detailed customer approval drawings and fabrication drawings.
+ Mechanical design and drafting skills with strong attention to detail.
+ Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with engineering and other teams.
+ Proficiency using spreadsheet programs, including Excel.
+ Strong math skills to support accurate calculations and design decisions.
+ Ability to work effectively in a structured engineering and manufacturing setting.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience using Solid Works for mechanical design and drafting.
+ Prior experience in a similar mechanical design or manufacturing role.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
+ Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to documentation.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing environment designed to support comfort and productivity. The workplace emphasizes collaboration between design, engineering, and production teams, with access to modern design tools such as Autodesk Inventor and other engineering software. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
