The Role

Must reside near Denver CO, Cincinnati OH, or Louisville KY, or Memphis TN. We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Structural Engineer to support infrastructure development within the parcel industry. In this role, you’ll help design and analyze structural systems that support conveyor equipment, elevated platforms, maintenance access areas, and other critical facility infrastructure. You’ll play an important role in ensuring our structural designs are safe, efficient, constructable, and compliant with applicable building codes, safety standards, and client requirements.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working cross‑functionally, solving complex design challenges, and contributing to fast‑paced projects that bring automated material handling systems to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze structural components (steel and concrete) for parcel facilities including conveyor support systems, elevated platforms, and equipment supports.
  • Ensure all structural designs comply with building codes such as ACI, AISC, ASCE & IBC, as well as applicable safety standards and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and automation teams to integrate structural solutions with conveyor systems.
  • Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for permitting and construction.
  • Conduct structural assessments and inspections of existing facilities to support upgrades and retrofits.
  • Utilize structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and RISA.
  • Support project planning and scheduling efforts.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors during construction and installation phases.
  • Prepare documentation for permitting and coordinate with local building departments.
  • Lead cross‑functional design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Will travel to project sites for inspections and coordination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration" or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in structural design, 5+ years preferred
  • Familiarity with parcel‑handling systems and facility layouts is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Experience with fast‑paced design‑build projects.
  • Knowledge of structural requirements for material handling systems.
  • Understanding of vibration and dynamic load considerations in conveyor systems.
