Construction Sales Engineer

This role supports our Louisville, Kentucky and Southern Indiana Construction Customers. A Construction Sales Engineer develops long-term relationships and consulting support to architects, engineers, contractors and owners for building control and MEP Systems. Sales engineers estimate control-system hardware and installation based on plans, specifications, and contract documents. They will also coordinate with ATS engineers and technicians to support successful project implementation.

Additionally, they will provide industry presentations and seminars to educate and influence the consulting, contracting and building engineering community. Our customer base includes but is not limited to; data centers, hospital and healthcare facilities, government buildings, school districts, and higher education buildings.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with ATS customers across the building industry. Consult with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners on building controls and MEP systems. Identify customer needs and develop technically sound solutions. Analysis of plans, specifications, and contract documents Estimate control system hardware and installation costs. Partner with ATS engineering and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution, clear expectations, and smooth customer handoffs.

Deliver presentations and seminars that educate and influence the engineering, contracting, and owner community.

Demonstrated ability to learn technical, complex systems Desire to cultivate professional relationships Strong time management and organizational skills Strong communication and interactive skills Ability to work independently and unsupervised Ability to identify customer pain points and craft solutions

This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to customers and project jobsites up to 50% of working hours. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds more frequently is required.

Must be comfortable climbing a ladder infrequently.

Full-time, exempt Typical Monday – Friday working hours with flexibility as needed Local travel required, up to 30% of the time with occasional out-of-state travel Engineering undergraduate degree (preferred) Building and/or Mechanical systems experience Professional business to business sales experience Knowledge of Control Theory & Applications and Mechanical systems
