Pavements & Materials Engineer – Technician

• Communicate technical information and assistance to FPO members and public and private pavement owners through written documentation, oral presentations, and in-person events
• Perform field assessments, including onsite project review, pre-construction asphalt design and mixture recommendations, and post-construction evaluation
• Represent the interests of the asphalt paving industry before state, federal, and local government agencies and affiliated industry committees and associations
• Develop training and provide instruction and technical presentations
• Assist in developing written technical publications and articles
• Travel regionally and out of state as required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based communication tools
• Detail-oriented with a very strong customer focus
• Working knowledge of pavement design and construction, including mixture types, pavement thickness design, and pavement maintenance
• Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• Relevant work experience will be considered
• Working knowledge of the Ohio Department of Transportation Construction & Materials Specifications
• Registration in the State of Ohio as a Professional Engineer preferred
• Regional and out-of-state travel required

Proficient in developing training materials and technical publications, with a strong focus on customer service and collaboration with government agencies.
