We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer / Engineering Manager to join a newly created position supporting the design, development, testing, and improvement of aerospace valves, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies.
This is a hands‑on engineering leadership opportunity with a strong balance of mechanical design, shop‑floor prototyping, testing, customer interaction, and project management. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of design engineering experience and be interested in progressing into an Engineering Director‑level role within 3–5 years.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop aerospace valves, hydraulic components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Create concepts, detailed designs, prototypes, and validation plans based on customer specifications and requirements.
- Work directly with customers regarding specifications, RFQs, design requirements, and project deliverables.
- Build and test prototypes and support performance, environmental, and qualification testing.
- Improve existing products for manufacturability, quality, reliability, and performance.
- Provide engineering support for legacy products, including redesigns and troubleshooting.
- Manage multiple engineering projects, timelines, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet AS9100, aerospace, military, and applicable industry standards.
- Support continuous improvement and the development of engineering processes and standards.
- 7+ years of mechanical design engineering experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, or a related industry.
- Strong mechanical component, valve, hydraulic, fuel system, or assembly design experience.
- Proficiency with Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), prototyping, testing, and product validation.
- Strong understanding of customer specifications, RFQs, and project management.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
- Aerospace, military, AS9100, or Mil‑Spec experience strongly preferred.
- Electro‑mechanical design experience is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and drug screen.
