Join our team as a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, where you’ll lead the development and integration of industrial control systems for metal stamping presses and related equipment. How You’ll Create Possibilities- Lead Control System Design :
Specify and engineer sophisticated control systems for metal stamping presses and related equipment—meeting specifications, budgets, and safety standards. - Own the Technology :
Architect, program, and implement PLCs, HMIs, and network configurations—primarily using Rockwell Automation products, with flexibility to integrate Siemens solutions. - Drive Process Excellence :
Partner with cross-functional teams to refine manufacturing processes and ensure alignment with industry best practices. - Innovate & Improve :
Analyze system performance, recommend improvements, and implement cutting-edge automation and robotics technologies. - Champion Safety :
Conduct machine safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with ANSI, NFPA, and ISO standards. - Mentor & Lead :
Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide engineering teams to deliver projects on time and at the highest quality.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial control system design and implementation, with specific expertise in metal stamping applications and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Proven proficiency in Rockwell Automation and Siemens platforms, including PLC programming, HMI development, and network configurations.
- Strong understanding of machine safety standards (e.g., ANSI/RIA R15.06, NFPA 79, ISO 13849) and the ability to apply them to system design.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to dynamic project demands.
- Proven track record of leading complex projects and delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel as required, typically ~25%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with assembly line design, automation and customized fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience in designing and operation of multiple axis automation equipment and/ or robots
- Prior NPI program experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Project (or equivalent)
