US Renewables & Power is currently seeking a Development Manager to lead project development within AES Clean Energy’s Western Wind Development region. The successful candidate will manage project development for wind projects located throughout the Western U.S. including in WECC and CAISO service areas.

The Development Manager is responsible for leading complex renewable energy projects and portfolio/sub‑market development activities with minimal oversight. The Development Manager must collaborate closely with project SME teams to understand all development activities, build project consensus and execute project strategy. The Development Manager will own complex relationships with external stakeholders and internal partners, and present AES’s position clearly in both internal and external meetings, showing full ownership of outcomes.

The position may be hybrid based, but there is a strong preference for this team member to be located near AES’ Louisville, CO office. The role requires the ability to manage a project team, work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and requires travel as needed. The successful candidate will work on a cross‑functional team including growth strategy, land acquisition, permitting, real estate, external affairs, stakeholder relations, legal, finance, engineering, interconnection, construction, external consultants, landowners, local officials, customers, and other project stakeholders.

This position will reside within AES Clean Energy’s project development group and will work in close collaboration with multiple cross‑functional teams.

• Lead all aspects of complex project development and portfolio and or sub market management.
• Ownership of project development schedules and budgets.
• Evaluate and manage risk across timelines, permitting, policy, and technical constraints.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Show the leadership needed to communicate and influence employees at all levels regarding project risks, opportunities, and recommended action.
• Effectively communicate and lead presentations clearly and with confidence to SLT+1.
• Manage contract obligations in key project documents.
• Lead Project Discretionary Permitting including permit strategy, tracking permit efforts, working with local AHJs, presenting at permit hearings.
