The Sanitation Districts protect public health and the environment through innovative and cost-effective wastewater and solid waste management, and in doing so convert waste into resources such as recycled water, energy and recycled materials.

The Sanitation Districts are currently recruiting to fill one (1) Engineering Associate II, III, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer within Wastewater Management Department within the (Warren Facility). The Sanitation Districts are a non-civil service public agency with over 1,700 employees, including over 200 engineers. We are nationally recognized for innovative engineering practices and leadership in designing, constructing, and operating state-of-the-art systems for solid waste and wastewater management.

To perform professional engineering work and coordinate progressively more complex projects in the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility Section.

Under the general supervision of a Supervising Engineer, the incumbent will plan, conduct, and support engineering projects related to the operation and maintenance of the Total Energy Facility at the Warren Facility; develop and recommend engineering solutions for the facility; interact with other Sanitation Districts’ departments, regulatory agencies, and the public; and perform duties to ensure compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.

Candidates must possess:

• A valid California Class C driver's license

-AND-

• Option A: A bachelor's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline - AND - a master's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline.
• Option B: A bachelor's degree in a related science - AND - an Engineer-In-Training Certificate - AND - a master's degree in a pertinent engineering discipline.
• Option C: A bachelor's degree in engineering - AND - two years of professional engineering experience obtained after earning a bachelor's degree in engineering.

• Option A:
  Two (2) years of experience as an Engineering Associate II.
• Option B:
  Four (4) years of professional engineering experience subsequent to earning a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited and recognized college or university.

Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer with the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists AND:

• Option A: A master's degree in engineering - AND - three years of professional engineering experience.
• Option B: A PhD in engineering - AND - two years of professional engineering experience.
• Option C:
  Six years of professional engineering experience subsequent to earning a bachelor's degree in engineering.

The ideal candidate will have two or more years of experience with oversight of combined cycle power plant operations, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of gas pretreatment systems, gas turbine operation, steam systems/turbine operation; a Bachelor and/or Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or…
