PositionWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Finance & Accounting to help oversee our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role requires technical accounting expertise, strong corporate finance experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. This person will play a key role in financial closing procedures, audit preparation, compliance and tax-related matters, and various process improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist in general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and presentations for the Board of Directors
- Lead and manage various process improvement projects, such as system implementations, reporting on business KPIs (operational and financial), and more
- Lead and manage all tax filing and annual reporting requirements with local, state, and federal government entities
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred)
- Public accounting or audit experience (Big 4 firm strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of corporate finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role (Finance Manager, Controller, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle)
- Systems implementation experience (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, including a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong knowledge of Excel: must have used extensively and be able to efficiently utilize all capabilities of Excel
