Position OverviewThe Accounting & Finance Manager is a hands‑on, collaborative financial leader responsible for safeguarding Rainbow Blossom's financial health while driving efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement across the business. This role ensures accurate, GAAP‑compliant reporting, modernizes accounting systems and processes, and partners closely with leaders across departments to support smart, data‑driven decisions. This position plays a key role in running a lean, disciplined organization—identifying opportunities to streamline expenses, improve margins, and use resources effectively—while supporting Rainbow Blossom's mission and long‑term sustainability.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with Quick Books required; retail POS general ledger systems (e.g., ECRS) a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Collaborative leadership style with ability to work effectively across departments and functional areas
- Strong people‑management skills, including coaching, development, and accountability
- Systems‑oriented mindset with proven experience improving financial tools, workflows, and controls
- Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non‑financial leaders and operators
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, operational environment
- Lead modernization of accounting and finance processes, reducing manual work and inefficiencies
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems, tools, and documentation
- Develop standardized procedures that support scalability, internal controls, and cost efficiency
- Partner with leaders across operations, purchasing, merchandising, and administration to align financial systems with business needs
- Identify opportunities to streamline expenses, improve margins, and support lean, profitable operations
Support special projects including vendor negotiations, inventory analysis, pricing, and system implementations - Coordinate with external auditors and support audit preparation
- Oversee monthly and year‑end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
- Prepare and deliver timely financial statements, cash flow reports, and performance metrics
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting workflows
- Lead and support AP, AR, payroll review, and related accounting functions
- Oversee vendor payment practices and purchasing‑related financial processes
- Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling projections
- Track performance against budget, prior periods, and financial goals, providing actionable insights
- Monitor cash flow, bank activity, and liquidity needs
- Oversee bank reconciliations, cash management, and support financing documentation as needed
- Full‑time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Owner
- Primarily in‑person during standard business hours, with occasional flexibility as needed
- Prolonged computer and desk work; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
