Role
By emphasizing ONE Park, ONE Mission, One Team, the AVP of Credit Services oversees the Credit Services Department to preserve the credit union's assets by managing delinquent accounts, loan repayments, and collateral recovery. This role involves hiring, training, and coaching staff; analyzing delinquency trends; and ensuring department goals for delinquencies and losses are met. Additionally, the AVP of Credit Services reviews and approves collection recommendations, allocates resources to meet operational needs, and develops methods to inform management of trends affecting loan performance while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and credit union policies.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Allocate resources to address the department's operational needs; review and decide on loss mitigation recommendations from staff regarding delinquent loans, including approvals, denials, or modifications. Collaborate with staff to analyze the financial situations of delinquent borrowers and determine appropriate actions. Ensure all departmental responsibilities are fulfilled effectively.
- Ensure delinquencies and losses are within goals set.
- Develop methods to analyze information and inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged‑off loans. Make recommendations as required.
- Recruit, evaluate, schedule, train, mentor, and oversee the performance of credit services staff; complete performance reviews as needed.

Experience
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
Education
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
