Position SummaryThe Director of Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting and legal departments, ensuring accurate financial reporting, establishing policies, and safeguarding company assets. This role partners closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, including direct oversight of the Controller and Contract Manager.
- Build a high‑performance, accountable, and team‑oriented culture.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Present monthly financial packets and insights to leadership.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and manage the annual budget.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Perform budget reviews and variance analysis.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
- Oversee accounting and legal operations to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce accounting and related company policies.
- Serve as liaison with key partners including banking, insurance, accounting, and legal services.
- Maintain strong external relationships that support company operations.
- Payroll review and tax filings.
- Support other financial and operational initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing multiple teams.
- Strong financial acumen and advanced ERP and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead, problem‑solve, and drive accountability.
- High level of ownership, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
