As a GE Appliances Financial Development Program (FDP) Intern, you'll complete a 10- to 12-week, project-based internship that provides hands-on experience in corporate finance while contributing to meaningful business initiatives. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll support financial analysis, participate in month-end close activities, perform account and variance analysis, and collaborate with business partners to help solve real business challenges. Throughout the summer, you'll strengthen your analytical, project management, business acumen, and communication skills while gaining exposure to Finance leaders and the critical role finance plays in driving business performance.

High-performing interns will have the opportunity to interview for the GE Appliances Financial Development Program (FDP), a three-year rotational program designed to accelerate career growth through diverse Finance experiences, leadership development, and a program funded MBA.

Throughout your summer with us you will...

  • Drive real impact through a meaningful summer project that addresses a real business challenge and delivers lasting value to the GE Appliances organization.
  • Build your network by connecting with Finance leaders and members of the Financial Development Program through networking and professional development opportunities.
  • Gain hands-on experience while you provide analytical support to business partners within an operational finance team, helping drive informed business decisions.
  • Contribute to results through participation in monthly and quarterly financial close activities, gaining hands-on experience with core accounting and finance processes.
  • Enhance efficiency by developing and maintaining process documentation to support standardized and efficient financial operations.
  • Sharpen your technical skills through performance of General Ledger research, account analysis, and variance analysis to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Shape your future with the opportunity to interview for and potentially join the 2028 GE Appliances Financial Development Program (FDP), a three-year rotational program designed to accelerate career growth through diverse finance experiences, leadership development, and the opportunity to earn a program funded MBA.

What will you need?

The ideal candidate for this position has the following Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Independent Task Management:
    Demonstrates the capability to autonomously set objectives and prioritize tasks effectively to align with project or assignment goals.
  • Problem Solving Proficiency:
    Exhibits adeptness in resolving challenging problems that vary in complexity, utilizing analytical skills and practical knowledge of the assignment area.

    Possesses the ability to influence others within the assignment area through clear and concise communication of facts, policies, and practices, fostering cooperation and alignment towards shared objectives.
  • Professional Productivity:
    Maintains a consistent track record of productivity and contribution, capable of delivering results while working independently under moderate supervision.
  • Continuous Learning and Development:
    Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, actively seeking opportunities to expand skills and knowledge relevant to the assignment.

Educational and Experiential Background:

  • Must be full-time rising Senior (December 2027 or May 2028 graduation date) currently enrolled in 4 year-college or university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Must hold and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.

Notes:

  • This is a full-time Internship, beginning in May ending in August.
  • Internship is carried out at GE Appliances Park, located in Louisville, KY. Relocation is available for qualifying candidates.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country/region where the business is hiring is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now nor in the future, for this internship.
