Description

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Department of Family and Juvenile Services has an immediate opening for a Regional Specialist based in Jefferson County.

Responsible for temporary coverage of vacant positions statewide to assure compliance with Court of Justice and Family and Juvenile Services policies.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fill in for vacant staff statewide, executing functions that affect the programs of numerous and complex organizational segments for evaluation and improvement.
  • Provide oversight of staff and program plans, organize, supervise, and check the work of employees performing administrative functions.
  • Supervise and recommend policy regarding research studies to be initiated in connection with compiling complex interpretive reports and summaries of statistical information.
  • Recommend policy and determinations on fiscal, personnel, and budgetary matters.
  • Write departmental annual reports.
  • Interpret departmental policy for the public and departmental employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience, Training, or

    Skills:

    Two (2) years of experience in a related field.
Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office setting within a detention center and requires regular on‑site attendance at the designated work location. Supervision and case management of adult criminal defendants and/or adult offenders. May include nights, weekends, and holidays. Extensive travel may be required.
