The purpose of this position is to respond to open records requests, conduct searches of electronic records, and communicate effectively the status of requests and potential issues with requestor and Louisville Metro Government agencies. The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Conducts searches of electronic records needed to fulfill open records requests.
- Ensures record searches are consistent with Metro Technology Services protocols.
- Assists department in defining the appropriate search criterion.
- Assists departments in accessing and sorting search results.
- Analyzes workflow of open records requests via on-line portal and provides recommendations to improve efficiency, workflow, and tracking.
- Monitors the progress of open records requests and track all open records requests.
- Performs edits to video and audio records.
- Assists with departmental training.
- Creates, modifies, or enhances computer applications in a client/server environment.
- Evaluates workflow processes, procedures, information systems and computer application functions.
- Creates, modifies, or enhances computer applications to automate processes, increase efficiencies, and improve utilization of compute records.
- Analyzes business needs, identifies and defines system requirements and recommends solutions to open records issues.
- Develops reports, charts, tables, maps and/or graphics for presentations to summarize or track operations and activities.
- Performs initial intake assessment, refers open records requests to appropriate LMG agencies, and corresponds and assists in compiling open records responses to requestors.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Must be a current, regular employee of Louisville Metro Government
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Technology or a related discipline.
- Three (3) years of demonstrably relevant experience in electronic information systems or related work
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be of good moral character, with no criminal or felony record inconsistent with the provisions of this paragraph. Unacceptable will be persons who have been convicted of a felony, or who have any criminal action pending against them.
- An applicant may be disqualified for multiple misdemeanors, an unacceptable criminal record, or multiple traffic violations.
- Must submit to a pre‑employment drug screening.
- Must submit to a pre‑employment polygraph test.
- Applicants who have bought, sold, or used marijuana within one year of application, or have bought, sold or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified.
- Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check.
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
